Developed for the specific requirements of the fabrication industry, SigmaMRP is a manufacturing resource planning (MRP) system that manages transactions and communication with customers and suppliers, inventory of goods and raw materials, along with departmental and outsourced processes. We have implemented this new technology into our laser cutting business process and our customers are already seeing the benefits.
In addition to inventory, work order, process scheduling and tracking progress, we also cut, bend, or punch sheet metal with a need to catalogue and recall remnants for future jobs. SigmaMRP is practical and robust offering the ability to us to grow in the coming years with our expanding requirements.
Specialised Laser Products have recently invested in a sitewide update to all of our manufacturing facility lighting systems. The upgrade has replaced all of our lighting systems in the main laser cutting storage and factory areas. With each light having an operational life of 50,000 hours, maintenance is drastically reduced and with an unrivalled expected failure rate of just 0.002%. the LED lighting that we have installed is expected to use 70% less energy than their equivalent halogen bulbs, in addition they provide a more uniformed distribution of bright light with less shadows, improving health and safety and creating brighter more pleasant working conditions. Our valued staff have already feedback on the benefits of a better working environment all round.

Specialised Laser Products have a longstanding partnership with BOC in the supply of industrial gasses to our modern manufacturing facility located in the centre of the England right next door to the M1 corridor. Due to increased and expected increases in contract, project and long-term customer work we have recently expanded the capacity of our Nitrogen storage facility to in excess of 20,000 litres. This is a 100% increase on our previous facility for the storage on Nitrogen and the investment is already seeing returns for our laser cutting machines and equipment.
Part of the investment was the introduction of a Nitrogen Tank safety wall which would prevent gas flooding any work zones in the event of a leak. This would be unlikely but we take employee safety and the environment very seriously along with a duty of care for all.
